


On the Buffy The Vampire Slayer Roleplay server we will have have several Base races a player can choose from to start their own buffy adventure!

Human:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest mean they are very physically diverse as well. Skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, hair from black to blond, and facial hair (for men) from sparse to thick. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Favored class (Any): When determining whether a multiclass human suffers an XP penalty, his highest-level class does not count.

Special abilities

Quick to Master: 1 extra feat at 1st level.

Skilled: 4 extra skill points at 1st level, plus 1 additional skill point at each following level.

Gnome
Gnomes were a species of supernatural beings resembling diminutive humans, though most prefer to remain among their own kind in simple comfort. Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. They love to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new ways to learnthings. Gnomes stand 3 to 3 1/2 feet tall, with their appearance as diverse as humans they are often mistaken for human midgets. Gnomes generally wear earth tones, but decorate their clothes intricately. Males favor carefully-trimmed beards. Gnomes live 350 to 500 years.

Gnomish ability adjustments: +2 constitution, -2 strength
Favored class (wizard): A multiclass gnome's wizard class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing.

Special abilities

Hardiness vs. illusions: +2 racial bonus on saving throws against mind-affecting spells.

Offensive training vs. reptilians: +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against reptilian humanoids.

Offensive training vs. goblinoids: +1 racial bonus on attack rolls against goblinoids (goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears).

Defensive training vs. giants: +4 dodge bonus to AC against giants.

Skill affinity (listen): +2 racial bonus to listen checks.

Skill affinity (concentration): +2 racial bonus to concentration checks.

Spell focus (illusion): Gnomes add +2 difficulty class to any illusion spells they cast. This counts as the feat so characters are able to select greater spell focus (illusion) at first level.

Low-light vision: Allows them to see better than normal in the dark.

Small stature: Gnomes are small creatures, giving them some benefits and drawbacks.

+1 size modifier to attack rolls.

+1 size modifier to armor class.

+4 size bonus to standard stealth and detection checks (modifies hide, listen, move silently, and spot).

Cannot use tower shields.

Cannot use large weapons.

At character creation, choosing a package other than the default may give gnome characters starting equipmentor weapon-related feats (at any level) that they cannot use.

Subraces
​
Subraces are special races that are stronger than the common races you see every day. To play these special races you have to meet certain requirements such as the type of base race, sex, Roleplay Points, alignment.
​
Because these races are generally stronger than the common races you will always need to apply a request before creating a subrace so the staff knows how many special characters are out there.

Slayer
Slayer, The chosen one. These human beings are the chosen warriors to face the ever returning darkness. Slayers are always female and their height, appearance and persona is as varied as the rest of their race with the only exception that sets them apart are their super human strength, agility and regenerative powers. A Slayer generally have a short lifespan and normally never grow older than twenty-five due to their violent way of life...

Vampire
The Vampire's are an abomination upon this world. Created by a pure demon to be a plague upon this realm they feast upon the unknowing citizens. All Vampires are Soulless beings with no moral compas and the only thing that drives them is their hunger for blood. They come in all shapes and sizes and for being undead they do not age.

Werewolf
Werewolves are humans suffering from a curse called Lycanthropy, that caused them to transform into a lupine creatures, particularly during full moon nights. Once bitten they will have a few dayse before the curse sets in and then they cannot be helped and be forever cursed to live two lives. Werewolves come in many sizes and often their furr and appearance can differ a bit depending on where they are from. Werewolves live a natural human long life if they are not killed by their own kind, fighting over territory, or by others such as Hunters or Slayers.

Favored class (None): A werewolf has no favored class, only they will lose their ability to make use of their classes once in Werewolf form.
